Honey & Sesame Oil Glazed Ribs

This recipe uses both our GoWISE USA pressure cooker and air fryer.

Ingredients

½ cup of soy sauce

2 Tbsp. rice vinegar

2 Tbsp. Sesame Oil

2 Tbsp. red pepper powder or cayenne pepper (if you are sensitive to spiciness, add 1 Tbsp.)

8 garlic cloves, minced

1 Tbsp. grated ginger

1 cup onions

3 lbs. baby back ribs

¼ cup honey

Sesame seeds for garnish

Chopped scallions for garnish

Double the ingredients if you would like to make more.

 

Ribs

Using the pressure Cooker:

Cut the baby back ribs in half or thirds.

In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, red pepper powder, minced garlic, grated ginger and onions to make a marinade. Pour the marinade over the ribs and let them marinate for at least four hours.

After marinating, place the ribs in the cooking pot, you can make the ribs spiral or stand around the pot to fit. Add a little bit of the marinade into the pot and a cup of water. Keep the leftover marinade.

Set the cooking time for 35 minutes.

Once cooked, take out the ribs and set them on a baking dish.

 

Glaze

Using the pressure Cooker:

Once your ribs are cooked, use the pressure cooker to make the glaze using the sauté feature. Be sure to empty the cooking pot of liquids first.

Pour the leftover marinade into the cooking pot and add in ¼ cup of honey and bring to a boil. 

Note: You can also do this on your regular stove top if you like, however, using the pressure cooker will make for less clean up in the end.

You can either pour the glaze over the ribs or use a basting brush to coat the ribs with the glaze. Be sure to use an oven mitt if you are pouring the glaze over the ribs, the cooking pot will still be hot.

NOTE: If you use a basting brush, you can save the glaze for others to add during your meal.

 

Air fryer

Using the air fryer:

Add a rack of ribs that have been glazed into the cooking basket for the air fryer. Set it to 400⁰ F. Cook for 5-7 minutes. Repeat for the rest of the ribs.

NOTE: If you don’t have an air fryer, broil the ribs in your oven for 5-10 minutes.

Once the rack of ribs is done in the fryer, sprinkle some chopped scallion and sesame seeds for garnish.
