Air fried Southern chicken


- about 2lbs. of chicken drumsticks and thighs

- 6 CUPS all purpose flour

- 5 TBSP salt

- 3 TBSP black pepper

- 2 TBSP garlic powder

- 1 TBSP onion powder

- 3 TSP cayenne powder

- 2 CUPS buttermilk


In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, black pepper, garlic, onion, and cayenne powder and sift/mix with a fork to blend all dry ingredients together.

in a separate medium bowl, pour in buttermilk. Dip the chicken in buttermilk, then coat well with the dry ingredients. 

Place the coated chicken drumsticks and thighs onto the air fryer rack and cook at 390F degrees for 9 minutes on each side. 

(When flipping the chicken midway through cooking, brushing a little oil onto the chicken gives a crispier result).
